Chennai Super Kings have clinched their second win in the Indian Premier League. Chennai beat Rajasthan by 45 runs on Monday night. This is Rajasthan’s second defeat in the ongoing competition.
Chennai, who were invited to bat after losing the toss in Mumbai, lost one wicket in 20 overs and scored 188 runs.
Fap du Plessis was the top scorer for Chennai with 33 runs. Similarly, Ambati Rayudu scored 27 runs while Moin Ali scored 26 runs.
Similarly, Dwayne Bravo scored an unbeaten 20 runs. Chennai skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Suresh Raina scored 18-18 each while Sam Kuran and Ruturaj contributed 13 and 10 runs respectively.
Chetan Shakaria of Rajasthan took 3 wickets and Chris Morris took 2 wickets.
In reply, Rajasthan lost nine wickets in 20 overs and were bowled out for 143 runs.
Only five players from Rajasthan could add double figures. After losing the first wicket for 30 runs, Rajasthan lost the second wicket for 45 runs and the third wicket for 87 runs. His middle-order players were dismissed one by one.
Rajasthan lost four wickets for 90 runs. But then he added five more runs to the scoreboard and lost three more wickets.
Jose Butler top-scored for Rajasthan with 49 runs while Shivam Dubey and Manan Bohara contributed 17 and 14 runs respectively.
Captain Sanju Samson was out for just one run while David Miller scored two runs. Similarly, when Ryan Prague returned to the pavilion with three runs, Chris Morris could not open the account.
Rahul Tewatia scored 20 runs while Jaydev Unadkat scored 24 runs.
In bowling, Moin Ali took three wickets while Sam Quran and Ravindra Jadeja took two wickets each. After the victory, Chennai has scored four points in three games.
